I came to Meghan to overcome my fear of public speaking and to find my voice, an issue I've struggled with for as long as I can remember. This was very important to me because my job requires me to communicate with people, and public speaking is also an opportunity for me to reach out to potential clients.
Over the years, I have tried many different approaches, such as practicing before events, meditation, somatic exercises to reduce stress and visualize success, and even working with a communications coach. While these helped to some degree, none of them really addressed the root of the issue.
I had no prior experience with RTT and didn't know what to expect. Meghan put me at ease, listened to what I needed and wanted, and tailored the sessions specifically to me.
My biggest "aha" moment was gaining a new awareness of the origin of my issue and understanding how it might have served me in the past but no longer does. I've noticed significant changes in the last 30 days.
While change and new behaviors develop over time, I now find myself at ease when talking to others and have actually committed to a public speaking engagement next month. Even when I don't feel as confident or a discussion doesn't go perfectly, I no longer beat myself up about it. Instead, I remind myself of the progress I'm making.

I have benefitted from other therapeutic modalities in the past. Having only had limited experience (and little success) years before with hypnosis therapy, I was unsure as to how effective RTT would be for me. I answered Ingram's Path intake form comprehensively and honestly but still had my doubts. From our first in-depth verbal conversation, Meghan was thoughtful, methodical, compassionate, and an AMAZING listener who made me feel comfortable with and optimistic about the RTT approach. Her innate empathy was abundant as was her trained and practiced ability as an interviewer.
In our session, Meghan clearly paid close attention to what I had written and said. She distilled my "issues" to specific concepts and phrases that were nearly perfect for addressing what I wanted. Meghan has a soothing voice and an organized, straightforward demeanor, so by the final part of the session—recording my “tape"- I felt relaxed and receptive. For the next 21 nights, I listened in bed, often falling asleep to the recording. Within the first week, I noticed myself, during anxious work-day moments, stopping myself before falling down a mental/emotional rabbit hole by repeating prompts from my recording. My anxiety level rapidly decreased each time, and my general, daily, "normal" anxiety was already lower.
I'm looking forward to future sessions with Meghan. With her guidance, I will continue improving my ability to respond to stressors with non-fear-based responses underpinned by a more deeply felt recognition of my true self-worth.

I knew Meg personally in Los Angeles years ago and trusted her to guide me on my RTT journey, which was new for me. I came to Meghan because I was stuck in the past and couldn't forgive family members. I tried therapy, life coaching, meditation, and “positive thinking” with little to no movement at all. I was at the point of giving up, thinking that this works for everybody but me...
The therapeutic experience with Meghan was very deep. She was able to articulate how I had been thinking and feeling my entire life. I had lots of profound moments and epiphanies that left me in awe. It’s not that I was self-sabotaging; it was that my mind would gravitate toward certain thoughts and situations as a form of self-preservation.
After the therapy session, I noticed a significant change—I no longer wake up thinking about the hurt my family caused me. I now permit myself to experience all my emotions instead of ignoring them. I've been enjoying the time I set aside each day to review the recording. I find myself taking a little something different away each time as I find myself catching something new in each listen. Our work created a breakthrough for me in my romantic partnership. What I discovered in that scene inadvertently led to some personal discoveries that helped me see how I was participating in that negative pattern. We are on a healthy path now, but I've absolutely felt like an exposed nerve these last few weeks.
Thanks for your reflections on how I've approached my family with compassion, sometimes at the cost of finding my own voice. I've felt this internally and sometimes find myself divorced from my own feelings/experiences when feeling aggrieved. There has been some resistance and a tendency to fall back into the familiar. What's really helped me in those moments is, "that's not me". The recognition that so much of what I've come to accept as the way I am is not, in fact, a reflection of my own values.
The conflict I've felt internally around certain topics is evidence that I do have an alternative point of view that's uniquely my own. I'm not there yet, but I've felt progress on aligning with that alternative POV. Thank you for the actionable tips. One that's already been helpful is "imagining positive". If my mind is going to actively begin to imagine the many ways a situation could turn out, I've been challenging myself to "imagine positive" in these moments as it's just as likely as anything negative I might be focusing on. This approach has helped me assume positive intention when interacting with others which alone creates space for connecting more deeply.
